One of the most representative elements in the wedding ceremony is undoubtedly the wedding ring; more than just a jewel, is a symbol in the new couple, which represent the commitment and signifies unity and stability.
In my experience as a photographer, time of shifting alliances is one of the most sublimes within the ceremony, the couple give their last gift as boyfriends looking into their eyes, which becomes the promise of “forever”; is that moment when I love to capture the look between the couple, it’s a look that only a few times of the evening is given, it is so special that only those who have taken that big step of marriage know what it means now.
But the experience with this important accessory culturally within the marriage doesn’t stay there, the wedding rings always play an important role in the pre-wedding photos, my recommendation is that the bride should have them with her during the preparation for the wedding day, that way I can play with the bouquet, rings, shoes and make compositions that are always fun to create to give that unique and original touch to the rings in the wedding album.
The wedding ring materials are different and each one have a meaning, for example, diamonds are literally indestructible and mean “forever”. Rubies are another widely used option that represents love, sharpness and greatness, but the design will depend on the tastes and budget of the couple.
Anyway, I think in the large number of weddings I have photographed, I have never found ugly rings, they are always special and each one carries a touch of magic that regardless of the material they will always be “The Wedding Ring” .
